Yi 360 VR Is a Pocket Camera That Records Video in 5.7K

Virtual reality is gaining popularity. And if some time ago, it still seemed something unreal, now it is hard to keep up with all the novelties. Yi Technology is a company that was selected by Google to create Yi Halo’s camera that records VR video. Now the company has released its own camera Yi 360 VR. This pocket camera put on pretty impressive characteristics and despite the small size, shoots video at maximum resolution.

The camera turned out to be very compact for everyday usage. With a weight of 170 grams, it measures 102 × 53.2 × 29.6 mm, so you can easily put it into your pocket or smallest handbag. It incorporates two 12-megapixel Sony lenses with a viewing angle of 220 degrees, enabling 360-degree photography.

The Ambarella H2V95 processor converts the received data into 360-degree video in 4K format. Users will be able to shoot in 5.7K (5760 × 2880 pixels) resolution, and then create panoramic videos in the video editor. The camera has a 1400mAh battery and an omnidirectional microphone, also the Yi 360 VR is equipped with a microSD slot, a USB Type-C port and Bluetooth 4.2. to control the camera using the remote control. The camera’s battery is powerful enough to shoot 4K videos for an hour. This device is intended not only for conducting regular shooting, but also for making live broadcasts. That’s real because the camera has the ability to connect to the Wi-fi and broadcast video to Facebook or Youtube with a resolution of up to 2.5K and a speed of 30 fps.

At the top of the camera, there are small OLED display and buttons for controlling the camera. You can also control the camera or view previously captured photos or videos via a smartphone or tablet using the Yi VR App mobile application. Alternatively, the camera itself can be configured to automatically download the captured video directly to the phone’s memory, and you can immediately share them on social networks. The camera is made of lightweight plastic and can be easily fixed to a tripod, monopod or simply held in the hand when shooting.

There are two colors of the camera: black and white. The Yi 360 VR has turned out to be a truly worthwhile camera when it comes to price/quality ratio and it suits both amateurs and professionals.
