Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Launches in India with Snapdragon 625 on Board

Not everybody knows that apart from being blessed with an unmatched cuisine, extraordinary wedding traditions and being the home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, India is also one of the largest electronics markets in the world. Its growing economy and expanding population make it the tempting market for foreign companies.

Xiaomi is building the business there too. The first Xiaomi handset to arrive in India was Redmi Note 3 — the first-ever smartphone in India that incorporated a powerful Snapdragon 650 processor. It enjoyed a great popularity out there. And now Xiaomi is trying to beat its success with another India-tailored Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

Redmi Note 4 looks like the original Chinese version with Mediatek Helio X20, barring only a few notable alterations. It is powered with an octa-core 2.0 Ghz Snapdragon 625 processor and Adreno 506 GPU. The processor will demonstrate a 14nm FinFET technology, enabling better performance and even longer life for its 4100 mAh battery. Redmi Note 4 also got a boost in memory up to 4GB/64GB with a possibility to expand flash-memory with micro SD card. The handset comes in familiar gold and silver, featuring a new color — black.

In other key areas, it matches the original Chinese smartphone. On the  will see a loved 5.5-inch IPS display protected by 2.5D curved glass and a 5MP selfie-camera. Round the back, there is a 13MP CMOS sensor featuring PDAF and LED-flash. Fingertip scanner remained at the rear panel.

Xiaomi really has only two rivals in India: Samsung and Micromax. And let’s be realistic about it: while Samsung is shipping its smartphones in bulks there, Lei Jun cannot afford to take a break.
