First Impressions About Redmi S2

The new one model of Redmi series was presented last week. According to the information, the letter “S” in the device name means “Selfie”. So this model is expected to become the best in class device for making a selfie and editing the photos.

Let’s take a closer look at the new Xiaomi smartphone.

The Redmi S2 comes in the traditional red cardboard packaging. What can we find inside? There are user guide, SiM ejector tool, micro-USB cable, charger, and warranty.

You can find well-known “Mi” logotype under the fingerprint sensor on the backside of the device. The size of the smartphone is 160.73×77.26×8.1mm. The cover feels like soft matte metallic texture. Smooth rounded edges look quite stylish. Redmi S2 does not create any discomfort when you hold it in a hand. It does not feel like the huge device, despite the quite big display size (5.99-inches).

The main camera consists of two modules (Sony IMX486 and Samsung S5K5E8). It has the same vertical placing as in the Mi 6X model.

What about the front camera?

A 16MP camera has large 2.0μm pixels, so your photos will be qualitative even in nighttime shooting.

The model comes with MIUI 9 ROM (based on Android Oreo). Three color variations are available: gold, pink and silver.
